In this article, psychodynamic factors related with drug treatment in psychiatry are reviewed. The patients experience significant emotional reactions related with prescribing drug, drug ingesting and drug induced effects. Psychiatrist have
counter-transference problems as well. These may be expressed through noncompliance, changes in drug responses and damage in doctor-patient relationship. Clinician should be able to combine effectively these dynamic components with modern
phychopharmacology for the successful treatment.
